MEMBERS of a Nottingham bowling club have raised more than £3,000 to help sick children at the Queen's Medical Centre.

Nottingham Proprietary Bowling Club presented a cheque for £3,313.02 to Nottingham University Hospitals Charity after holding a series of fund-raising events in 2009. The money will go to the Bastow Laboratory in the Children's Hospital, where children's gastrointestinal problems are investigated and diagnosed.

The bowling club raised the money after choosing NUH Charity as its 'Charity of the Year' for 2009.

Donations to the charity are used to enhance patient care at NUH by providing specialist equipment, medical research and staff training.
